The Unified Nomenclature of Vaccines (NUVA) is both a multilingual catalog of vaccine names (vaccines currently or previously marketed anywhere, generic names used to designate certain vaccines in physical vaccination records) and a structured description of vaccines using the concept of valency, enabling the definition of a vaccine ontology.
Structuring vaccination information is necessary for interpreting vaccination histories.
